The Beauty of Being A Daughter of God

Happy March Friends!! There's no other name more highly esteemed given to creation than that of the Children of God.  “And God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.” Genesis 1v27. “God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over every living thing that creeps on the earth.” Genesis 1v28.

In Genesis three, the trajectory of humanity changed. Sin entered in, yet God gave the most astonishing proclamation, “And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed and her seed; He shall bruise you on the head, And you shall bruise him on the heel.” Genesis 3v15.  He proclaimed the Good News amid their sin. Jesus, who was with Him before the beginning, would come through the woman taking on the likeness of human flesh to do what no mere man could do- defeat sin and death.

What's interesting is God would continue to use fallen creations and broken people to demonstrate His power, glory, and excellence.  Once Jesus came, everything changed.  His life, death, resurrection, and ascension established His glorious Kingdom within the very hearts of humanity- “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name,”

John 1v12.

The children of God come from the Seed, that is, Christ. It's a divine lineage brought about through the blood of God, Himself. It's a royal birth through the Spirit filled with power and comes with an immense inheritance. We are God’s chosen precious possession, and He is ours.  As we walk in the Word, becoming intimate with the Author of Life, we come to understand who He has created us to be and all we have in Him.

Today we look at the daughters of God.  God has given women a beautiful place within the Kingdom, being intricately woven into the lineage of Jesus. Today, we discover this through a brief journey with some of the women in the Bible.  This is not an exhaustive list but a place to see the beauty of being a daughter of the Most High.  I also want to point out that passages don't necessarily use the term daughter but rather embody the heart of the Father in His call to us as His daughters.  I pray this will cause you to seek Him and discover all He Is and has prepared for you!

Now lets us glean together👇🏾

💞Daughters are fierce and change the course of history that they would leave a legacy for the future. {Example: The daughters of Zolephad. Passage: Numbers 27v1-11.}.

Key Verse|

“Why should the name of our father be withdrawn from among his family because he had no son? Give us a possession among our father’s brothers.” “The daughters of Zelophehad are right in their statements. You shall surely give them a possession for an inheritance among their father’s brothers, and you shall have the inheritance of their father pass on to them. Further, you shall speak to the sons of Israel, saying, ‘If a man dies and has no son, then you shall have his inheritance pass on to his daughter.” Numbers 27:4, 7-8.

💞 Daughters are bold and ask for what is rightfully theirs. {Example: Caleb's daughter- Achsah. Passage: Joshua 15v18-19}.

Key Verse|

“Now it happened that when she came to him, she enticed him to ask her father for a field. So she alighted from the donkey, and Caleb said to her, “What do you want?” Then she said, “Give me a blessing; since you have given me the land of the Negev, give me also springs of water.” So he gave her the upper springs and the lower springs.”Joshua 15:18-19.

💞Daughters use their faith to walk in the promises of God. {Example: The woman with the issue of blood. Passage Luke 8v43-48}.

Key Verse|

“And He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has saved you; go in peace.”Luke 8:48.

💞Daughters rely on Yahweh living in kairos moments-ready, expecting God-appointed happenings.  {Examples:  The Book of Ruth}.

Key Verse|

“And Ruth the Moabitess said to Naomi, “Please let me go to the field and glean among the ears of grain after one whom I may find favor in his eyes.” And she said to her, “Go, my daughter.  “So she went. And she came and gleaned in the field after the reapers. And it so happened that she happened to come to the portion of the field belonging to Boaz, who was of the family of Elimelech.” Ruth 2:2-3.

💞Daughters walk in their God-ordained purpose bringing the message of salvation to many. {Example: Mary, the mother of Jesus}.

Key Verse|

“And Mary said, “Behold, I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her.” Luke 1:38.

💞Daughters know their position under the new covenant. {Eample: Sarah - casting out Hagar. Passage: Genesis with the revelation in Galatians 4}.

Key Verse|

“For it is written, “Rejoice, barren woman who does not give birth; Break forth and shout, you who are not in labor; For more numerous are the children of the desolate one Than of the one who has a husband.” But what does the Scripture say? “Cast out the servant-woman and her son, For the son of the servant-woman shall not be an heir with the son of the free woman.”Galatians 4:27, 30.

💞Daughters seek God faithfully, and when the promise comes to pass, they don't desire to hold it tightly; instead have already made the decision beforehand to release the gift back to God that He would do with it what He chooses. {Example: Hannah. Passage: 1 Samuel 1}.

Key Verse|

“And she, bitter of soul, prayed to Yahweh and wept despondently. And she made a vow and said, “O Yahweh of hosts, if You will indeed look on the affliction of Your maidservant and remember me and not forget Your maidservant, but will give Your maidservant a seed amongst men, then I will give him to Yahweh all the days of his life, and a razor shall never come on his head.”1 Samuel 1:10-11.

💞Daughters are secure in the waiting. They know their God and Father and wait expectantly for His Salvation. {Anna in the Temple. Passage: Luke 2v36-38}.

Key Verse|

“and then as a widow until she was eighty-four. She did not depart from the temple, worshiping with fasting and prayer night and day.”

Luke 2:37.

💞Daughters have a heart for the things of God. They won't give in to the pressure of culture, even at the risk of rejection or death. They, instead, walk in wisdom, able to give the word at the right time. {Example: Shiphrah and Puah. Passage: Exodus 1v15-21, Esther. Passage: The book of Esther  Specifically: Esther 4:15-16}.

Key Verses|

“But the midwives feared God and did not do as the king of Egypt had spoken to them, but let the boys live. Now it happened that because the midwives feared God, He made households for them.” Exodus 1:17, 21.

“For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, and you and your father’s house will perish. And who knows whether you have not reached royalty for such a time as this?” Esther 4:14.

Each of these depictions is a shining example of what it looks like to walk as daughters of God Almighty.  Daughters worship God for who He Is and all He has done and celebrate all He will do. I pray our time in the word will make merry your heart as it continues to in mine.

See you next time🦋
