Wading through the murkiness of life ~ Christian Adulting

I've been going through a difficult season, riddled with disappointment.  My life looks nothing like I had envisioned it, and it's hard to process unmet expectations with a natural mindset. And then I am reminded, I am not meant too and child of God neither are you.

Have you ever found yourself in a place you never thought you would be?  Have you looked around and wondered, how did I get here? Have you thought, God, how can this mess possibly be part of Your plan?

If you are adulting, then your wading through life, which can be rough.  Situations drain us. People disappoint us. We grow weary, which can leave us prone to walking in the natural (flesh). The murkiness of life can leave us grasping for easy and comfortable instead of Sovereign, Faithful, and True.

But Beloved, we are called to greater and higher.  We are yoked with Jesus and are to remain in a relationship with Him. We are born again and to allow His life to permeate every aspect of ours including our expectations and dreams.

When moments in life look different than we envisioned, let us encourage one another to fight the invitation to focus on our self (desires, expectations) and situation(s), by intentionally fixing our eyes and thoughts on Christ. The only way to rightfully process reality is in light of the truth found in God's word.  Let us, therefore, press into our Savior where we find rest for our weary souls, comfort for our hurting hearts, balm to heal our wounds, and strength to take another step.

God is sovereign. God is faithful.  God is available.

When things are seemingly spinning out of control, we are encouraged to remember we have a choice in Whom we take refuge.

And those who know Your name will put their trust in You; For You, LORD, have not forsaken those who seek You. Psalms 9:10.
